Pipeline2008 is a new, improved solution for designing main pipelines. Pipeline2008 has incorporated hundreds of new requirements formulated to us over the last two years by engineers from dozens of leading institutes designing such pipeline systems as Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean, Baltic Transportation System, Hariaga-Indiga. Pipeline2008 is made up of three completely re-designed and extended applications automating the survey-design chain:

    LotWorks2008 – accelerates pipeline design in profile, calculation of scope of earthwork, elaboration of seven documents including BOM.

    LandProf2008 - laying of pipeline trace and plotting of initial set of profiles and layouts, extended and improved set of tools to manipulate traces. Generates 19 documents, saving hundreds of manhours.

    GeoDraw2008 - effective tool to construct geological sections and maintain a catalogue of wells, generates 18 report documents.

In addition to the traditional increase of the individual productivity of executers, the new Pipeline2008 provides conditions necessary for productive team work and effective cooperation of project design participants. A new principle of distributed storage and exchange of design information, used in Pipeline2008, offers new advantages unavailable in the past:

  • Several persons can simultaneously work on a design project, save and exchange project information using a common storage place called the project database. Work results of all the project participants are kept in the project database, from which one can quickly generate all necessary items (drawings, registers, reports).
  • In addition to the traditional vertical distribution of works (different specialists execute the whole scope of works on a trace section), the application allows for horizontal distribution (different specialists execute various operations on the whole trace). This allows for flexible organization of project team work involving personnel of various departments and simplifies interaction between project participants and transfer of project information.
